Use of experimental design to evaluate the chromium (VI) adsorption by alginate/polyaniline beads

Low-cost decorated sodium alginate beads with polyaniline (Alg@PANI beads) were easily prepared using a cross-linking method, and employed for the adsorption of Cr(VI) from aqueous solutions. The effect several influencing parameters, including temperature, contact time, concentration, adsorbent dosage, was investigated optimized central composite design (CCD) under response surface methodology (RSM). analysis variance (ANOVA) quadratic model analyzed revealed that models statistically significant, low P-value (<0.0001) high correlation coefficient value (R2 = 0.93). optimum parameters total as follows: dose 0.027 g, pH 2, time 45 min, temperature 38?C, concentration 29.24 ppm. findings this study indicate Alg@PANI could be effectively used to remove ions
